Atlantic Smart Technologies is proud to be the first to offer Engineered Theaters^TM. What is an Engineered Theater and how does it differ from a Home Theater? Anyone can install a television, surround sound receiver and speakers and call it a Home Theater. An Engineered Theater takes into account other critical factors when designing the ultimate theater experience. Things such as acoustics, lighting, seating, and system control are all part of the Engineered Theater.

Buying a "theater" from one of those chain stores often results in disappointment because the salesperson at the store does not know or consider where the equipment is being installed. He only knows the specifications of the equipment he is selling you. Using a formal design method, we visit, measure and look at where your theater will be installed before one piece of equipment is selected. What are the acoustics of the room? Do you have tile floors? Is the room large or small? Do you have high or low ceilings? How will sound reflection within the room alter the quality of the sound? Are there materials such as curtains and furniture that will absorb sound from the speakers? These are all questions that relate to sound that must be answered before the process of creating an Engineered Theater can take place.

There are several critical factors in having the ultimate theater experience. These include

• Ease of use in controlling the equipment

In most cases, you wouldn't want to replace your beautiful couch for professional theater seating, nor would we expect you to. Our Engineered Theater approach takes into account your current room furniture and we engineer a great theater around it.

Discovery
This is where one of our Theater Engineers visits your home measures and draws out the space where you want your theater. He will then discuss the different options and price levels to create the ultimate Engineered Theater.

Engineering
Once our Theater Engineer and you decide on general theater characteristics and price level, he will design a complete system taking into account all factors that affect the quality of the theater. Sound dampening, lighting control, system control are some of the factors engineered into the theater.

Installation
Our Theater Technicians will install the equipment in your theater using the finest quality cabling and professional appearance you'd expect.

Calibration
An Engineered Theater is not complete until a Theater Engineer performs a complete system calibration. This includes using sophisticated audio and video calibration equipment to "hear" and "see" the output of your theater. Making minor adjustments to the video settings and audio settings can make the difference between an ordinary and extraordinary experience.

Followup
After you have lived with your Engineered Theater for 2 months, we will come back for a complimentary recalibration and answer any questions you may have.
